Forgotten {Interview & Giveaway}

Forgotten
Each night when 16 year-old London Lane goes to sleep, her whole world disappears. In the morning, all that's left is a note telling her about a day she can't remember. The whole scenario doesn't exactly make high school or dating that hot guy whose name she can't seem to recall any easier. But when London starts experiencing disturbing visions she can't make sense of, she realizes it's time to learn a little more about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future. Part psychological drama, part romance, and part mystery, this thought-provoking novel will inspire readers to consider the what-if's in their own lives and recognize the power they have to control their destinies.
---------------------------------------
Today I would like to welcome Cat Patrick and her new debut YA novel Forgotten. You can see my review here.

How would you describe Forgotten?
FORGOTTEN is the story of London Lane, a teen girl who “remembers” her future instead of her past, and all of the challenges—and mysteries—associated with having that condition.

Which of your characters do you feel you relate to the most and why?
London, probably because I know her best. She’s the smart, mature teen I wish I’d been.

Were you a reader in your teen years and if so, who was your favorite author?
I’d love to say yes, but unfortunately, I mainly read what was required as a teen. That said, I did enjoy much of what was required—specifically I wrote a term paper on Ray Bradbury after being inspired by many of his works.

What one 2011 release are you most looking forward to reading this year?
Just one? That’s tough! I guess I’d have to say “The Future of Us,” co-written by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. I love “13 Reasons Why,” and basically all of Carolyn Mackler’s books, so I’m really excited about their literary mash-up.

Are you currently in the process of writing a sequel or newer book?
I’m not planning on a sequel to FORGOTTEN because I think the ending suits the story. Like London’s future, the ending isn’t set in stone; like London’s outlook, the ending is hopeful. I like that readers get to use their imaginations a bit.
My second book will be out June 2012, and I’m in the process of writing a third. Stay tuned for more on my second book soon!
-----------------------------------------
When I first heard that there was not going to be a sequel to Forgotten. I was upset at first, but then I understood where Cat was coming from and I completely agree :]
Now for your chance to win my slightly used ARC.

Lockdown {GIVEAWAY}

Lockdown: Escape from Furnace 1 (Escape from Furnace)
Furnace Penitentiary: the world’s most secure prison for young offenders, buried a mile beneath the earth’s surface. Convicted of a murder he didn’t commit, sentenced to life without parole, “new fish” Alex Sawyer knows he has two choices: find a way out, or resign himself to a death behind bars, in the darkness at the bottom of the world. Except in Furnace, death is the least of his worries. Soon Alex discovers that the prison is a place of pure evil, where inhuman creatures in gas masks stalk the corridors at night, where giants in black suits drag screaming inmates into the shadows, where deformed beasts can be heard howling from the blood-drenched tunnels below. And behind everything is the mysterious, all-powerful warden, a man as cruel and dangerous as the devil himself, whose unthinkable acts have consequences that stretch far beyond the walls of the prison.Together with a bunch of inmates—some innocent kids who have been framed, others cold-blooded killers—Alex plans an escape. But as he starts to uncover the truth about Furnace’s deeper, darker purpose, Alex’s actions grow ever more dangerous, and he must risk everything to expose this nightmare that’s hidden from the eyes of the world.

Awhile back I met Shara on Twitter and I fell in love with her adorable owls. She agreed to let me review one right here on Ashley Suzanne along with a security blanket!

Isn't it adorable?! I was able to chose which colors I wanted along with what saying I wanted on the blanket. She completely blew me away with the final product and the little owl on the blanket is so cute and I love the way that it matches the bigger owl! I also love the brown minky fabric and how soft it would be to baby's skin.

Below are the details on the owl set...

Which mythical creature do I wish would come out my closet?

HAHAHA. Love this question! I know is silly and girly of me, but I would love a werewolf to come outta my closet. Not the deformed weird looking ones, but the Taylor Lautner ones. Not exactly Taylor Lautner (even though he is totally smexy), but more like Jacob in Twilight (before he started whining for Bella, I mean c'mon who wants a were that is whiny? Not I.)
