Book Blogger Hop {7.22.11}

Book Blogger Hop

The one genre that I cannot seem to "get into" no matter how hard I try is Urban Fantasy. I think it is just because it is on an adult level and even though I am an adult I still don't like to have to concentrate on the words while reading. I like for the story to flow easy, so that I can get caught up in it :]

Thanks to Crazy-For-Books for hosting this hop!

  1. I haven't really been able to get into UF either...probably for the same reason as you!

  2. Fantasy seems to be the most common answer. I hadn't realized so many people have trouble getting into it! I do understand where you're coming from though with UF books sometimes not flowing very nicely.

  3. We seem to be different...I love urban fantasy... I can understand that some things don't flow quite as well...oh well! Carry on enjoying what you like!

  4. Urban fantasy is hit or miss for me. Two books I've loved in that genre: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and Un Lun Dun by China MiƩville.

    Since last week's pie chart about where I get my books was so popular, I thought I'd share what types of books I do read. Please stop by to see which genres I don't typically read.

  5. The cover on the book you are reading looks interesting I will be looking for the book to add to my wishlist.
    My genre I guess is eclectic. I have a hard time with Paranormal/Fantasy and Horror/blood/gore.
    Following you on GFC.

  6. I had the same problem with paranormal / fantasy stories a while ago, but somehow that has changed during the last few years. :)

    Very pretty blog! I'm a new follower now. :)

  9. I'm not huge into adult UF either and I'm starting to get tired of the YA variety, too. I've actually been more excited about contemporary fiction lately.

    Glad to have found you via the Hop!
