Prudent Baby: How to Make a Mason Jar Pincushion + Giveaway!

So do you all remember the last post where I said I found all those AMAZING tutorials? Well this is the first one that I tried and loved!

The only thing that I would change about this tutorial is that I DO NOT recommend gluing around the inside top of the lid, because then it is extremely difficult to close.

I will post my creation later on.

Link up your designs if you decide to create one.

I will choose one FOLLOWER who participates to win a mystery fabric. Make sure to leave your email in the comment section.

Till Next Time,

Day #? - June 2, 2011

Wow! Can you believe that it is already JUNE? Before we know it, it will be time to bring out the eggnog, tree decorations, and get so stuffed our eyes feel like they could pop out any moment. Yes, I am talking about Christmas!

As you can see Ashley's Bookshelf has received a new facelift and name. It is still the same book blog, but now it will involve other things in my interest. Such as sewing, crafts, and my usual chatter. What are your thoughts on the new blog?

Did you notice the other day how I was trying to blog every single day by doing Day 1 - and the date? Well I forgot what number I was on so I decided to stop doing that. The main reason that I was unable to get a post out to you all was because I was watching this cute little boy and every time he sees a computer he thinks, "Computer-let me smash all the keys." So I was not able to get in very much computer time the past two days. Then my work schedule is today and tomorrow 7a-7p at the hospital, and the Saturday is family reunion and Sunday is church, but hopefully I can get in a few more posts.

Cute little boy :]

There is this new website that has amazing tutorials, that I plan on sharing with you all real soon.

Stay Tuned,

Charity Events +Giveaway!

Passions by Ashley and Ashley's Bookshelf are teaming up to gather donations for three EXTREMELY IMPORTANT charities. You can find out about each charity below by clicking on their pictures.

The first charity is Newborns in Need. I truly love this charity because children hold a very special place in my heart. My heart just aches for them and I cannot help but to think why did this happen to them? They didn't make the choices that lead them to where they are now. I just keep in mind that God knows why and that He is keeping watch over all His children - big and small. Newborns in Need is where they gather donations [baby items and/or cash] and give them to those who truly need it, right here in the USA.

If you would like to donate some items then you are more than welcome to email me at ashleysbookshelf at gmail dot com and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have as well as tell you where to send them.

If you would like to donate cash then please do so in the donation box below. You may also add this to your site [please do] so that we may all work together to help all the little ones in need.

The next charity is Samaritan's Purse. I am not sure if you have heard of this one, but
it is amazing! There is the online interactive catalog where you can buy things for the people over seas in third world countries. You can purchase food for a baby for a week, or you could buy a dozen chickens for a family so that they can have fresh eggs.

If you would like to donate to this cause please do so by clicking on the button below.

Last, but most definitely not least is the crisis in Alabama due to the past tornadoes that caused an enormous amount of damage.

This was a terrible tragedy that took place not too long ago. It seemed that after many were just settling over the hurricaine that hit years back they now have to worry about rebuilding their homes due to the tornadoes. This money that is gathered for this cause will go to helping those people get back on their feet once again.

If you would like to donate please do so below.

I am not sure how many of you have actually read through all this, but I sure hope you participate. I know that many are skeptical about donating this day and time, but this is actually helping those people right here in our on country. Plus its not like our money really belongs to us. It belongs to God and it is stated that if you give what you can then you shall surely be blessed in the end :]

There will be a few giveaways leading to these three charities, and the sure fire way to win is to donate, donate, and donate. The more you donate the better chances you have, because every $1 =  1 entry.

A hint at the giveaways are:

- cash prizes
- gift cards
- quality products

I look forward to working with you all in spreading this love around the world. Remember to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
